The Infrared and UV Flydry
The FlyDry is a robot capable of drying every part of the vehicle; it is usually installed to dry body fillers, primers, waterborne, and clear coats.
The Flydry can be installed in a paint booth or preparation bay with a plenum or open workspaces.
The Flydry can be configurated with Infrared Drytronic-Technology only and combined also with UV LED-Technology
The FlyDry is composed of an automatic column that can rotate 360°. It can dry the sides and upper part of the vehicle.
It is equipped with an arm with two infrared Drytronic lamps that can move pneumatically in position, high or low, as well as horizontally, thus adapting to every angle of the vehicle profile.
The robot moves automatically in four directions, long and wide, infrared dries, and parts of the car are affected by the drying treatment without limits of length and height.
The FlyDry robot has an integrated database of formulas for drying with infrared classic paint products such as body-filler, primer, waterborne, and clear coat and for drying UV products such as body-filler, primer, and clear coat.
The technician selects the paint product, and the robot automatically manages the drying process.
The automatic regulation and control of the treatment is based on an integrated laser that constantly detects the drying quality and automatically readjusts the parameters if necessary.
The drying speed is approximately 80 cm or 32 inches per minute.
For example, it dries the length of a car door in less than two minutes.
The FlyDry is available in two heights, one for cars and the other for commercial vehicles.
The Flydry can be configured with only infrared or infrared and UV together.
UV on board
LED-Tronic technology is the result of research by Symach’s R&D department. From the study of the correct wavelength for new-generation UV paints to the LEDs used in the mechanical design of the product and the performance obtained, it is the result of years of work that has led to receiving a very high-level performance, overcoming the barriers and limits that have hindered the spread of this technology until now.
The LEDs used are of different wavelengths, all in the UV-A segment. They are assembled along a line of reflectors, studied and designed to obtain the fastest and most efficient drying on the market.
In the Flydry-UV version, the LEDs are installed on an aluminum heat dissipation support inserted in an aluminum case with cooling fans, allowing constant and prolonged lamp use.
The Flydry has four UV lamps in parallel at two. It covers 1.8 m. (5.9 ft), height, allowing it to dry the entire side of the car or the hood in one pass.
For UV paint products, the exposure time is approximately 30/40 seconds, allowing the Flydry to dry UV products at approximately one linear meter (three feet) per minute.
